Chapter Four

Fuck! I should have known that when I saw December, I wouldn’t be able to control myself. For six years I told myself that I was done with her, that I hated her for disappearing on a nigga without hearing my side of the story. December was supposed to be my first love, my everything but before all of that we were best friends so imagine my surprise when she got ghost on me over some words a bitch said.

For six years, I had to live with the fact that I was locked up behind bars and couldn’t get in contact with my girl. It wasn’t until Tre told me that he talked to December and found out the rumor that was being spread around, that I got clarity on why she ghosted me. If it wasn’t for him, I would still be lost on what happened to this day.

“Put me down Charlie!” she yelled my government name out like we weren’t in public.

December was always a force to be reckoned with, and I see nothing has changed. Placing her on her feet once we reached my car, I admired her cheeks as she pulled her little bitty ass dress down. Anger washed over me just thinking about who ever she wore that dress for. Although December wouldn’t talk to me, I kept tabs on her over the years and I had to say I was very disappointed in the company she chose to keep. I never imagined her being with somebody else but I was shocked learning about the nigga she chose. I chucked it up to her trying to find anybody to get over me, problem was she would never get over me.

“You got some nerve.” she swung at me, letting her fist connect with my face.

Grabbing her face, I pulled her closer and whispered in her ear, “It’s been six years… but don’t make me have to remind you who the fuck I am.” I mushed her backwards.

December knew I didn’t play that putting her hands on me shit. I dealt with that from the woman that was supposed to be my mama all my life, I be damned if I continued to deal with it while I’m grown.

“Take a ride with me,” I nodded towards my car and she shook her head no, like I knew she would do. Moving towards her to yank her up, I paused once I saw the crowd that was forming. I wasn’t the type of person that liked confrontation, I hated people in my business.

“Y’all good?” Tee walked up holding up the shorty that was with December. You could tell that she wasn’t a drinker, she was almost falling out of her heels. I couldn’t lie though, shorty was bad and I could see my boy with her. Tee and I been through some shit and he needed somebody to keep him going.

“Yeah… we good. Come take a ride with me Squirt.” I opened the car door for her, not giving her a chance to choose.
